Free Papercutting Templates from Scherenschnitte
I love the beauty and delicacy of papercuts, but I’ve never actually tried the art form myself. I recently came across Cindy’s blog, Scherenschnitte, and found some lovely free* templates that would be perfect for a child’s bedroom or nursery.
Some are based on traditional childhood themes while others draw their inspiration from popular fairy tails and nursery rhymes. I’m dying to find a few moments to sit down with one of these and my X-Acto knife and see how it goes.
She has many more on her site which she posts under her “Template Tuesday†series, so be sure see them all!
*As with all freebies, please be respectful of the artist’s copyright and use terms.
I love these and always admire paper cuts when I see them! I don’t think I have the patience to do it. Please share yours if you get a chance! Have a great week!
Thanks, Gina! I’ve got so many other projects going right now but I’ve gotta make the time to just give it a try. Now that I’ve found these free templates, I don’t really have any excuses! I’ll let you know if I complete one. See ya soon!
Hello Chris, Iam a big fan of scherenschnitte but I can not do it. I am a teacher and co teach with another girl in my room. She is getting married in May and Isaw a wedding papercut on pinterest with pattern encluded. Do you cut for customers. I am looking for someone to cut the pattern I saw. Would love hearing from you if this is a possiblity and of course what would you charge for this. Thank you for your time.
